The All Ceylon Jewellery Merchants Association announced a slight decrease in gold prices in the domestic market today compared to yesterday's rates.
According to the association, the price of a 24-karat sovereign decreased by Rs. 1,000.
Under current market conditions, a 24-karat sovereign retails at 392,000 rupees, whilst a 22-karat sovereign trades at 360,600 rupees.
On a per-gram basis, 24-karat gold stands at 49,000 rupees, and 22-karat gold sells at 45,075 rupees.
Market sources stated that the impact of price variations in the international gold market continues to reflect in domestic gold rates.
