The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Uva province and in Polonnaruwa, Mullaitivu, Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.
The department requests the public to take necessary measures to minimise accidents caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that can occur with thundershowers.
