Evidence in the inquest into the mysterious death of former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena has been concluded, and the Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena today (19) issued notices directing the Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo and the Government Analyst to appear before court on July 8, to obtain the postmortem report and the analyst’s report.
Testimony was recorded today from the 28th witness, Sub-Inspector Kumudu Senevirathne attached to the Fingerprint Bureau of the Colombo Crimes Division, and the 31st witness, Sub-Inspector Mahesh Madhusanka, who served with the Colombo Divisional Crime Division.
Since the recording of evidence in the case has now concluded, the Magistrate issued notices requiring the Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo and the Government Analyst to appear in court on the next hearing date to submit the postmortem and forensic reports necessary for issuing the inquest order.
The case is scheduled to be taken up again on July 8.
