Police have announced that a special security and traffic management plan will be implemented for the upcoming Poson festival.
Accordingly, the Inspector General of Police has issued instructions to all Officers-in-Charge of police stations and senior officers.
Police said that day-and-night mobile patrols, foot patrols, bicycle patrols, beat patrols, and motorcycle patrols will be conducted in all police divisions, while traffic officers will be deployed to manage areas expected to experience heavy traffic congestion.
During this period, legal action will be taken against individuals or groups who engage in activities that may damage the sanctity of the occasion or cause inconvenience to devotees, police added.
