National People’s Power (NPP) Member of Parliament Chandana Suriyaarachchi says that the Rs. 1,000 telephone allowance currently provided to officials will be incorporated into their salaries.
He made these remarks while speaking to the media after a discussion held with Community Empowerment Officers, coordinated by the MP.
He further stated that until approval is granted to incorporate the Rs. 1,000 telephone allowance into the salary, it will continue to be provided on a reimbursement basis.
In addition, he said that arrangements are being made to provide office allowances of Rs. 2,000 at rural level and Rs. 3,000 at urban level, along with travel allowances.
He also noted that Rs. 10,000 is already being provided on a reimbursement basis for expenses related to official seals, stationery, and convening development council meetings.
