The final verdict in the case regarding the forcible removal and subsequent injury of Mrs Sri Lanka World winner Pushpika de Silva will be announced on October 17. Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama issued this directive today (22).
The two suspects accused in the incident are former Mrs World Caroline Jurie and model Chula Padmendra. The Chief Magistrate delivered the order when the case was called before the Colombo Magistrate's Court today (22).
In 2021, during the Mrs Sri Lanka finale held at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre, the two suspects allegedly walked onto the stage, assaulted Pushpika de Silva, and forcibly stripped her of the crown after she was declared the winner.
The presentation of evidence and examinations concluded entirely during previous court sessions. Accordingly, the Magistrate informed the court that the final judgement will be delivered on the next scheduled hearing date.
