Supreme Court concludes hearing on A.H.M. Fowzie vehicle misuse case

The Supreme Court today (23) concluded the hearing of a petition filed requesting a ruling that former Minister A.H.M. Fowzie violated fundamental human rights by utilising a vehicle provided by the Netherlands government for disaster management activities in Sri Lanka for his personal use.

The Supreme Court decided to postpone the delivery of the judgment to a later date.

The petition hearing took place before a three-judge bench comprising Supreme Court Judges Preethi Padman Surasena, Janak de Silva, and Arjuna Obeyesekere.

A former chairman of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Chandra Jayaratne, presented this fundamental rights petition before the court.
