The suspect boyfriend of the female physiotherapist whose body was found in Teldeniya, and his wife, have been arrested, according to the police.
They were arrested this morning (24) in Jaffna.
They were apprehended following a joint operation conducted by the Walana Anti-Vice Striking Unit and the Jaffna Division Crimes Investigation Bureau.
According to the police, information was received that the suspect and his wife were travelling in disguise from Wellawatte to Jaffna on a luxury bus. By tracking the bus's GPS technology, officers arrested both suspects just as the vehicle reached Jaffna.
A senior officer of the Nuwara Eliya Police stated that as soon as information regarding the suspects was received, the Jaffna Division Crimes Investigation Bureau was notified. He added that the arrested suspects will be brought to the Nuwara Eliya Police and produced before the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate's Court to obtain detention orders for further investigations.
