Attorney-at-Law Rakhitha Nirmala Rajapaksa, Samagi Jana Balawegaya Horana electorate organiser Charitha Vasantha Kumara Abeysinghe, and former Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd. Director Warushahennadige Aruna Sri Chathuranga have been remanded until July 3 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
The Bribery Commission arrested the trio in connection with an incident involving an alleged Rs. 120 million bribe solicited from the wife of an alleged organised criminal to facilitate certain favours.
The court rejected the bail request due to insufficient grounds provided by the defence and ordered the suspects to be held in remand custody until the aforementioned date.
