Major General (Retired) Suresh Sallay, the former head of the National Intelligence Service, has been admitted to the Cardiac Unit of the Colombo National Hospital following a heart attack.
Family sources report that steps were taken to hospitalise him after he suddenly fell ill.
He is currently receiving treatment under specialised medical supervision at the hospital.
