20kg rice package offered to public sector on payment plan

Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe stated that 20kg of rice will be provided to public sector employees on a payment plan (credit basis).

The initiative was established in a backdrop where farmers' paddy harvests are going to waste in their homes due to the lack of a proper price.

He expressed these views while attending a ceremony held yesterday (26) in the Vijayapura area of Anuradhapura.

However, farmers continue to allege that they have still not received a fair price for their paddy harvest.
