Sri Lanka will become the richest and most beautiful country in the world after the green hydrogen project, according to National People's Power Member of Parliament Ravindra Bandara.
The NPP Parliamentarian, who noted that no carbon emissions occur during green hydrogen production, stated that Cabinet approval for the relevant project is now granted.
The Member of Parliament pointed out that green ammonia can be manufactured through the project by combining nitrogen with green hydrogen to produce fertilisers, which can then be exported.
Ravindra Bandara emphasised that the importation of fertiliser, which currently accounts for the second-highest foreign exchange expenditure in the country, will not be required after that, adding that this is how a government acts with a proper plan.
The Parliamentarian made these remarks while addressing Parliament.
