He gained popularity among fans by portraying the Maname Prince in Professor Ediriweera Sarachchandra's play, 'Maname', and contributed to both the original and later productions of Lucien Bulathsinhala's stage play, 'Tharavo Igilethi'.
His first stage play was 'Muhudu Puththu', and he also contributed to the fields of teledramas and cinema.
The highly popular song, 'Sobava De Mepura Siri Visithuru', serves as a constant reminder of him.
