SL Tamil politicians meet Tamil Nadu CM Vijay

A delegation from the Tamil National Council met with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C. Joseph Vijay, in Chennai today, July 3, to conduct detailed discussions. During the meeting, the group delivered a written memorandum to Chief Minister Vijay detailing various political and human rights concerns regarding Sri Lankan Tamils.


Leader of the Tamil National People's Front, Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, noted on X that the memorandum focuses on challenges faced by Sri Lankan Tamils. Key points include calls for a political solution to replace the unitary constitutional system with a federal power-sharing model for the North, addressing the ongoing difficulties experienced by Indian and Sri Lankan Tamil fishermen, and finding permanent resolutions for Sri Lankan Tamil refugees residing in India.


The delegation, led by Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, included Selvarajah Kajendren, Ponnudurai Ayngaranesan, K.V. Thavarasa, Dharumalingam Suresh, Kanakaratnam Sugash, and Nadarajah Kandeepan.
