A 12-hour water cut will affect several areas in Colombo and its suburbs today, 4 July, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board stated that the water supply will be suspended in Colombo 01 to 15, Battaramulla, Pelawatta, Hokandara, Koswatta, Thalawathugoda, Kotte, Rajagiriya, Mirihana, Madiwela, Nugegoda, Nawala, Kolonnawa, IDH, Kotikawatta, Mulleriyawa, Wellampitiya, Orugodawatta, Kaduwela, Maharagama, Boralesgamuwa, and Piliyandala.
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board explained that the disruption follows a power interruption to the Ambatale water treatment plant caused by essential maintenance work at the Mulleriyawa substation.
Simultaneously, upgrades to the electricity system will take place at the Dehiwala water pumping station and the Maligawatta Elie House pumping station.
The National Water Supply and Drainage Board expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the service disruption.
