Strong wind warning issued

The Department of Meteorology warns that wind speeds may increase between 55 and 65 kilometers per hour in sea areas off the coast extending from Kankesanthurai through Mannar to Kalpitiya, and from Matara through Hambantota to Potuvil.

Sea waves may rise between 2 and 2.5 meters in sea areas off the coast extending from Chilaw through Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota to Potuvil due to these conditions, the department added.
