The Sri Lanka Navy supports the ‘National Dengue Prevention Programme’ series, which runs from July 5 to 12 in collaboration with the ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ Secretariat, the National Dengue Control Unit, and the Environmental Police.
Under the theme 'Towards a Dengue-Free Colombo,' personnel from the Western Naval Command conducted special operations alongside Medical Officer of Health (MOH) offices in Modara, Mattakkuliya, Borella Wanathamulla, Panadura, Narahenpita, Mahara, and Wattala.
Other naval commands implemented similar programmes by inspecting and cleaning environments within their respective regions. Beyond these community operations, the Navy also organised prevention programmes within all naval base premises.
The Navy remains committed to contributing to such initiatives across the island to combat the deadly dengue threat.
