Special focus will be placed on solving the long-standing drinking water issues of the public through the 2027 budget.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka made these remarks during a meeting held at the Presidential Secretariat today to review the progress of projects implemented under the 2026 budget allocations for the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Water Supply, and to discuss the 2027 allocation requirements.
Special attention was also directed towards the resettlement programme during the discussion.
The President instructed officials to expedite the resettlement of people displaced by the war and to implement a housing assistance programme for partially constructed houses belonging to low-income earners.
