The domestic price of gold in Sri Lanka decreased further today, according to the All Ceylon Jewellers' Association.
A 24-karat gold sovereign fell by 2,000 rupees to 374,000 rupees today, down from 376,000 rupees yesterday.
Under the current pricing, a 22-karat gold sovereign is now retailing at 344,100 rupees.
For smaller quantities, one gram of 24-carat gold costs 46,750 rupees, while one gram of 22-carat gold is priced at 43,013 rupees.
Fluctuations in the international market have caused the continuous volatility in local gold prices over recent days.
