A memorial sermon to remember and transfer merit to the officers and inmates who died in the incident that occurred at the Negombo Prison took place at the Ministry of Justice and National Integration this morning (13) with the participation of Most Venerable Meegoda Sukhitha Thera.
Secretary to the Ministry of Justice and National Integration President's Counsel Ayesha Jinasena, and Acting Commissioner General of Prisons Prasad Hemantha Kumara, along with officers from the Ministry of Justice and National Integration and the Department of Prisons, attended the event.
The religious event transferred merit in memory of the officers and inmates who died during the Negombo Prison clash. And the event also blessed speedy recovery for the injured prison officers and inmates who are undergoing treatment at hospitals.
