Appointments will be handed over to 228 public health management assistants at a special event scheduled to take place on July 16 at 10.30 am at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, the Ministry of Health and Mass Media said.
The appointments will be delivered under a special human resource development programme implemented by the Ministry of Health and Mass Media to enhance the quality of the free healthcare system in the country, make the hospital system more efficient, and maintain hospital administration and patient care services without a breakdown.
This ceremony is scheduled to be held under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Mass Media Doctor Nalinda Jayatissa and with the participation of officials of the Ministry, the Ministry mentioned.
Appointments were granted to 627 individuals as the first batch of health service assistants in the Western Province under the patronage of the Minister on the 4th of this month, to quickly fill vacancies existing in the health sector after a long time, the Ministry also mentioned.
The Ministry took steps to grant the remaining health service assistant appointments under several categories, and accordingly, arrangements are made to award appointments to 600 health service assistants on July 18 and to another 762 health service assistants on August 01, the Ministry notes.
Arrangements are also made to grant appointments to 295 dengue control assistants and 121 minor service supervisor professionals within the next two weeks, the Ministry of Health and Mass Media mentioned.
The total number of health service assistants, dengue control assistants, and overseer professionals receiving appointments within the next two weeks is 1,778, the Ministry said.
