Rain expected in several areas

The Department of Meteorology forecasts that light showers may occur today (18) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.

Mainly dry weather conditions prevail in the rest of the island.

Strong winds of about 40-50 km/h, blowing at times, can occur in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, and in the Matale, Hambantota, and Trincomalee districts, the notice further stated.
