Meanwhile, the government commenced purchasing paddy on the 13th. At present, paddy purchasing is being carried out through 43 government paddy stores, with more than 300,000 kilograms of paddy purchased so far, Deputy Minister Namal Karunaratne stated.
The Deputy Minister made these remarks while speaking to the media following a programme held in the Bingiriya area.
