Two arrested with 'shot cut' firearm, hand grenade, and ammunition

Two men were arrested along with a 12-bore locally-made firearm, a live hand grenade, and a stock of live ammunition hidden in a land in Ganegodella, Kosgoda, the Police Special Task Force announced.

The Police Special Task Force (STF) mentioned that this group and the firearms were discovered during a special raid conducted yesterday (20) based on information received by officers of the Police Special Task Force Organised Crime Prevention Unit II.

Illegal items recovered included a 12-bore 'shot cut' (locally-made) firearm, a live hand grenade, seven live rounds of ammunition used for T-56 weapons, and a 9mm empty ammunition casing, the STF states.

Those arrested in this manner are two individuals aged 29 and 32 residing in Nape, Kosgoda.

The suspects, along with the seized ammunition and items, were handed over to the Kosgoda Police Station for further investigations regarding the incident.
