Gold prices in Sri Lanka have declined today (23) according to the All Island Jewellery Merchants Association.
A sovereign of 24-karat gold sold for 378,000 rupees yesterday (22), and today the price decreased by 1,000 rupees recording at 377,000 rupees.
In today's market prices, a sovereign of 22-karat gold is sold at 346,800 rupees.
Meanwhile, one gram of 24-karat gold is sold at 47,125 rupees, and one gram of 22-karat gold is rated at 43,350 rupees.
Jewellery merchants stated that local gold prices continue to fluctuate in line with changes in the international market.
