School second term end, third term start dates announced

The second school term end dates and the commencement dates for the third term for government and government-approved private schools for the year 2026 are announced.

The Ministry of Education informs the dates by issuing a notice.

The second school term for Sinhala and Tamil medium schools ends tomorrow (24), while the first phase of the third school term starts on Monday, July 27, the notice stated.

The second school term for Muslim schools ends on Friday, July 31, while the first phase of the third school term will start on Monday, August 03.

Academic activities for the third term in all government and government-approved private schools across the country will operate from the respective dates, the Ministry of Education further stated.
