The no-confidence motion presented by the opposition against the Minister of Justice and National Integration, Attorney-at-Law Harshana Nanayakkara, is scheduled to be debated today (24).
The decision to hold the debate regarding the relevant motion today was taken at the Committee on Parliamentary Business which met the day before yesterday.
Accordingly, this debate is planned to be held from 11.30 am to 5.30 pm.
This motion of no confidence, bearing the signatures of 37 opposition MPs including Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, was handed over to the Speaker recently based on several grounds, including the Justice Minister failing to perform his duties during the Negombo prison clash.
