A young boy died following a road crash that occurred early yesterday morning (25) in the Kalapaluwawa area in Welikada.
Police stated that the child who died in the incident was a four-year-old boy.
Police also mentioned that the crash took place in the Kalapaluwawa area on the road between Ambagaha Junction and Rajagiriya.
Reports indicate that a motorcycle travelling towards Rajagiriya overturned on the road after losing control, causing the boy riding on it to be thrown off and hit by an oncoming car.
Police said that the child, who suffered severe injuries, was admitted to the IDH Hospital, where he passed away.
Welikada Police are conducting investigations into the incident.
