A large-scale illegal gem racket operated in the Modara section of the Kalu Ganga in Kobawakawatta, Horana was raided by the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit.
During the raid, 25 suspects, including three gem businessmen, along with eleven boats, five motors, and numerous equipment used for gem mining worth 70 million rupees, were taken into custody by the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit.
