Korean Ambassador and Prime Minister hold discussions

Outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka Miyon Lee met with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya at the Prime Minister's Office.


Prime Minister Amarasuriya extended gratitude for the Ambassador's support and contribution toward strengthening long-standing bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and the Republic of Korea during her tenure.


She appreciated continuous assistance provided through Korean-funded development projects covering irrigation and education sectors.


Sri Lanka focuses on attracting quality investments and expanding bilateral trade and economic cooperation to safeguard mutual benefits for both nations, as emphasized during the meeting.


Discussions further explored current and future cooperative opportunities in agriculture and climate change, alongside development programs implemented with Korean backing.


Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Eunji Kang, Secretary to the Prime Minister Pradeep Saputhanthri, Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister Sagarika Bogahawatta, and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism participated in the event.
