Sri Lanka's largest statue of Christ was unveiled yesterday in Supuwan Arana in Seeduwa.
Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith presided over the special ceremony to bless and unveil the statue of Christ for public veneration.
Located within the Supuwan Arana premises in Seeduwa, the monument stands 60 feet high and is constructed from white iron.
The concept and design of the artistic statue is the brainchild of Reverend Darrel, the administrator of Supuwan Arana.
Buddhist monks and other religious leaders, nuns, and many devotees attended the event.
