Rescue teams recovered eight bodies after part of a four-storey building collapsed yesterday (30) night in the Bhiwandi area of the Thane district in Maharashtra, leaving approximately 11 individuals trapped in the debris.
Local residents reported hearing loud explosive sounds from the structure between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Bhiwandi Fire Department official Nitin Chavan stated to foreign media that six residents and five workers involved in repair tasks were reported missing, while rescue operations continue and recovered bodies were transferred to a hospital.
