Two backhoes submerged in Mahaweli floods

Two backhoe machines brought for the repair of the Peradeniya Black Bridge on the Mahaweli River were submerged in floodwaters.

Accordingly, the construction site where repairs are being carried out on the Peradeniya Black Bridge, which was damaged by the Ditwah disaster, is completely submerged under water.

The water level of the Mahaweli River rose following the heavy rainfall that has been prevailing since yesterday (31) night.
