Showers or thundershowers will occur tomorrow (07) from time to time in Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western Provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara Districts, and the sky in those areas will be cloudy, the Department of Meteorology stated in a notice.
Heavy rain above 100 mm may occur at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara Districts.
Also, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ampara, Batticaloa, and Monaragala Districts after 2 p.m., the notice stated.
Fairly strong winds of about 40-50 kmph can blow from time to time in North-Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central, and North-Western Provinces.
The department requests the public to take necessary steps to minimise damages caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thundershowers.
