Three arrested over Wattala shooting

Three individuals were arrested yesterday (7) in connection with the shooting of a person who was attending a party at a reception hall in the Kadirana Palliyawatta area in Wattala on the night of the 23rd of last month.

Officials of the Western Province North Crimes Division arrested the three suspects, who were wanted for the crime, following an investigation conducted with the assistance of the Police Special Task Force.

The arrested suspects are residents of Jinthupitiya, Matale, and Kaduwela, aged 26, 35, and 36.

One suspect was identified as the driver of the car, another acted as the shooter, and the remaining suspect aided and abetted the perpetrators to hide, with the Western Province North Crimes Division conducting further investigations.
