Showers expected in several areas after 2 p.m.

Showers may occur from time to time today in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara Districts, the Department of Meteorology forecast.

A few periods of showers may also occur in the Western and North-Western Provinces.

Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may develop at a few places in the Uva and Eastern Provinces, as well as in the Mullaitivu District, after 2 p.m.

The department requests the public to take necessary precautions to minimise damages caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
