Several areas to experience rain today

Several spells of showers may occur today in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western Provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara Districts, the Department of Meteorology forecast in today's notice.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva and Eastern Provinces and in the Mullaitivu District after 2 p.m.

The department requests the public to take necessary measures to minimise dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thundershowers.
