Dominican Republic expels 9 Cuban officials

The Dominican ​Republic has formally ‌asked Cuba to withdraw nine ​members of ​its diplomatic mission and ⁠their relatives, ​the foreign ​ministry said on Thursday, without explaining further.

The ​move comes ​as Dominican leadership has ‌increasingly ⁠criticised Cuba, whose allies are dwindling as ​the ​impact ⁠of a U.S.-led economic ​crackdown makes ​life ⁠on the island more and ⁠more ​difficult.
