Water cutting ceremony of Kaduwela Pattini Devalaya today

The procession for the annual water cutting ceremony of the Kaduwela Siddha Rankadu Pattini Devalaya parades the streets today (16) from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Due to that, a special traffic plan operates on the Kaduwela, Avissawella-Colombo bus route, police announced.

Starting near the devalaya, the procession travels via route 143 Avissawella-Colombo bus road over the Kaduwela Rajasinha bridge towards the ferry, and concluding the water cutting ritual, the procession returns to the devalaya along the same road via Kaduwela junction.

Police request drivers and the public, travelling through that area, to use the following alternative routes in order to minimise traffic congestion during the period the procession parades.

Accordingly, traffic movement will be restricted near the Kaduwela junction on the 143 Avissawella-Colombo bus road, police inform that as an alternative route, one can entre the 177 Kaduwela-Kollupitiya bus road from the 697 bus route via Kaduwela-Korathota road, and travel by entering the 143 Avissawella-Colombo bus road again via Rajasinha Mawatha.
