The Department of Meteorology forecasted several spells of showers may occur today in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.

The department states that fairly strong winds of about 30 to 40 kilometres per hour can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, as well as in the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, and Southern provinces, and in the Trincomalee district.
