Four arrested over Mount Lavinia shooting

The Terrorism Investigation Division has arrested three men, including the main suspect, and a woman in connection with a murder in the Mount Lavinia area.

Two individuals on a motorcycle carried out the shooting on the 15th.

Following investigations, the main suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon, the 18th, while staying at an inn in the Wattala area.

Subsequently, on the same night, two more male suspects and a female suspect were arrested in the Slave Island area on charges of aiding and abetting the crime.

Police said a revolver-type firearm, 12 live rounds, and six empty cartridge casings found in their possession were taken into custody at the time of the arrest.

The arrested male suspects are aged 28, 32, and 35, and are residents of Colombo 12, Colombo 14, and Dalupotha, whilst the female suspect is a 28-year-old resident of Kurana.

Further investigations into the incident are underway.
