Showers expected across several areas today

Department of Meteorology forecasted showers may occur at times today (20) in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.

Several spells of showers may occur in the North Western Province.

Rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 pm.

Mainly dry weather will prevail in the remaining areas of the island.

Fairly strong winds of around 30-40 km/h may occur at times on the western slopes of the central hills, as well as in the Northern, North Central, North Western, and Southern provinces, and in the Trincomalee and Matale districts.
