Nearly 150 individuals suffering eye irritation due to smoke and laser beams from firecrackers during a festival in Pandathiruppu, Jaffna, were admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
Jaffna Teaching Hospital Director Doctor Thangamuthu Sathiyamoorthy said that approximately 40 of those hospitalised were children.
He noted that treatments are currently underway for the affected individuals. Furthermore, Doctor he added that no person sustained severe or major eye related injuries.
