Dr Nanda Malini ended her life journey recently at her residence located in Nawala, and her 83rd birthday falls today as she was 82 years old at the time of her passing.
Realising through her creations that song is a powerful expression of social awakening as well as human emotions, Dr Nanda Malini, who raised the glorious echo of the nation, had expressed a final wish that her final rites be conducted in a very simple manner.
In addition to fans, a large number of people, including artists, arrived to pay their final respects to the remains of the glorious echo of the nation, Dr Nanda Malini.
Even though she departed after bidding farewell to Mother Lanka, the final breath of Nanda Malini will echo eternally, blending with song literature as the heartbeat of the people of this country.
