A man who was returning home after attending an almsgiving died following a wild elephant attack in the Medawachchiya–Pulleliya area last night (22), Medawachchiya Police say.
Further investigations were initiated based on a message received by the Medawachchiya Police Station regarding the incident.
The deceased is a 52-year-old resident of the Rambakulama area.
Police investigations revealed that the deceased faced this wild elephant attack while travelling home on a motorcycle after attending an almsgiving at a relative's house.
Medawachchiya Police are conducting further investigations regarding the incident.
