Sri Lanka Air Force personnel succeeded in immediately identifying and arresting a suspect who stole a passenger's bag at the Pettah bus station, using the CCTV surveillance system in the new operations room.
This theft, which occurred yesterday (23), was identified while being monitored live through the CCTV camera system, and Air Force personnel on duty, who acted promptly alongside it, arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police for further legal action.
Security surveillance operations take place continuously through the new operations room established at the modernised Pettah bus station, and in addition to identifying thefts and other crimes, providing immediate relief in situations such as a passenger suddenly falling ill or being involved in an incident is also carried out here.
