President receives credentials from 11 newly appointed envoys

Seven newly appointed foreign ambassadors and four high commissioners presented their credentials to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat today (25).

The eleven diplomatic officers met the President this morning to hand over their credentials.

The new ambassadors represent Brazil, China, Austria, the United States of America, the Dominican Republic, Sudan, and Panama.

The new high commissioners represent Bangladesh, Ghana, Brunei Darussalam, and Guyana.

Accordingly, Jorge Geraldo Kadri presented credentials as the Ambassador of Brazil, Wei Huaxiang as the Ambassador of China, Dr Robert Zischg as the Ambassador of Austria, and Eric S. Meyer as the Ambassador of the United States of America.

Francisco Manuel Comprés Hernández presented credentials as the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic, Dr Mohammed Abdalla Ali Eltom as the Ambassador of Sudan, and Nubiela Yanarith Ayala as the Ambassador of Panama.

D.M. Salahuddin Mahmud presented credentials as the High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso as the High Commissioner of Ghana, Siti Arnyfariza Md Jaini as the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam, and Dharamkumar Seeraj as the High Commissioner of Guyana.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath and Secretary to the President Dr Nandika Sanath Kumanayake were among those present at the occasion.
