Organised crime gang member Koralagamage Mandinu Pathmasiri, alias Kehelbaddara Padme, who was remanded until 3 September after being held under detention orders, has been transferred to the Boossa High Security Prison.
When the relevant case was called at the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court yesterday, lawyers representing the suspect submitted facts requesting an order to detain him at any facility other than the Welisara Prison, as rival gang members were present at Welisara.
The court subsequently ordered prison officials to take steps to house the suspect in a suitable, high-security facility.
Accordingly, the Department of Prisons took action to transfer the suspect to the Boossa High Security Prison yesterday evening.
