Water levels in several Mahaweli reservoirs drop due to dry weather

Mahaweli Authority reports indicate that despite water levels in several Mahaweli reservoirs remaining at a high value, the water levels in certain reservoirs have decreased to less than 30% in the face of the prevailing dry weather conditions.

It is also mentioned that the water levels in certain reservoirs have decreased to a limit close to 50%.

As of August 25, the water level of Kandalama Wewa had decreased to 50%, while the water level of the Kaluganga reservoir had also decreased to 55%.

Furthermore, it shows that the water level of Bowatenna reservoir is at 21%, Maduru Oya at 26%, Kala Wewa at 29%, Hurulu Wewa at 27%, and the water level of Diyabana Wewa is at 15%.
