Seven hospitalised as van crashes into electricity pole

Seven people have been hospitalised after a van veered off the road and collided with a high-voltage electricity pole on the Piliyandala-Kottawa road.

The police stated that the injured individuals were admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital.

Authorities suspect that the crash occurred because the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

The incident has also resulted in a power outage across the area.
